4th of July

Happy 4th everyone! This is by far one of my favorite holidays. It reminds me of backyard cookouts with my family and enjoying the hot summer of New England. I wanted to share this recipe for white wine sangria that I found on the Food Network website. White wine sangria is my go to summer drink because it is so light and refreshing. I made some tweeks to the recipe to go with the 4th of July theme, but I pretty much followed as is. Hope this inspires you to try this tasty cocktail! Have a safe and happy holiday.

1 bottle dry white wine

1/4 cup fine sugar

1 granny smith apple, cut up in small chunks

5-6 big strawberries, cut in 4 slices

2-3 handfuls of blueberries

pinch of salt

1 can lemon seltzer

ice cubes

1. Mix dry white wine with 1/4 cup fine sugar until sugar is dissolved completely

2. Add the fruit into the wine and sugar mix

3. Put that mixture in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour (up to 4 hours)

4. Right before serving, add seltzer and ice cubes and enjoy!
